This row of stone cottages with iron roofs and uniform verandahs were all built at the same time. The architectural style of this era is seen widely in Australian cities, but it is unusual for Broken Hill.
It is more common for later housing, from between the wars, to adopt styles used elsewhere in Australia, and Broken Hill has something from every era: Californian Bungalow, Neo-Tudor, and Spanish Mission, though often expressed in a character unique to Broken Hill.
