78. South Post Office - 1898

The South Post Office was established in Broken Hill in 1891. This typical Federation or late Victorian, brick building was erected in 1898. It was designed by architects Walter Liberty Vernon and George McRae, who also designed the iconic Queen Victoria Building in Sydney. 

Today the post office has been restored and repurposed.
